Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

We strive to meet the needs of all pupils in our infant school. All staff are aware of SEND and receive high quality information and training. We aim to quickly identify children who evidently need additional support and provide targeted interventions and assistance to meet their needs.

We ensure that parents are fully aware of the SEND process and are informed of their child’s learning at regular points throughout the year. We are a fully inclusive school and work alongside the Local Authority, Health Professionals and community organisations to find the most appropriate and effective support for pupils in our care.

To discuss SEND provision at our school, please contact Mrs Joanne Poyser, SEND Co-ordinator tel: 01629 822453 email: headteacher@wirksworthcofe.derbyshire.sch.uk.

The documents below give more information in relation to SEND and how school and home can support children.
