Our Church School
Our Federation follows the Derbyshire Syllabus for Religious Education and the Understanding Christianity curriculum.
We embrace 18 Values for Life in our learning - you can find these on our Vision and Values page
SIAMS inspections
All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the Church of England Education Office's framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. The SIAMS Evaluation Schedule sets out the expectations for the conduct of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Methodist and ecumenical Schools under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005.
SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school's Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish. More detail can be found on the SIAMS website at https://www.churchofengland.org/more/education-and-schools/church-schools-and-academies/siams-school-inspections
In May 2015, Wirksworth Church of England Infant School was judged OUTSTANDING

Charitable Fundraising
We regularly support national fundraising initiatives for Children In Need, Sport Relief and Comic Relief.
We raised £105 for Wirksworth Aquabox in 2019, enabling the purchase of 5 water filters for a village in Tanzania, visited by Mrs Marriott.
Together, the CoGS group raised more than £5,000 for Cancer Research and related charities in 2018-19, supporting families, students and staff across our cluster who are affected by cancer.

Community links
Our Federation enjoys close links with our local community and churches, and works in collaboration with other schools as the COGS partnership (Cluster of Gell Schools).
The historic St Mary's Church, Wirksworth, is often a focus for collective worship and celebrations. St Mary's Team Ministry, led by Team Rector Canon David Truby, provides regular support to our schools. We welcome members of the church family to lead weekly collective worship.

Foundation Governor Reports
Our Foundation Governors, Mrs Todd and Mrs Sutcliffe, support our schools in lots of different ways. Mrs Todd provides a regular written report to Governors, which is shared below.
